The PLNX- line of indicators are 2 and 4 channel versions with the same basic circuitry and performance features as the Model PLN-D2. Additional features include different instrument cases, and switching provisions for one to four channels which accommodate up to four transducers.
Indication is direct. Resolution is from 1 pound to 1000 pounds, depending on full scale transducer capacity. Alternate display units are available.
Simple operation. For normal use only three controls are involved: Turn on the power switch, select the channel, set the no load balance or tare reading to zero, and begin reading applied loads.
A shunt calibration function provides a quick test of transducer and indicator integrity.
The readout system is fully contained in a rugged and durable aluminum alloy case.
Power is provided by a set of rechargeable batteries. Batteries and a recharger with a retractable 110 Vac or 220 Vac power cord, as specified, are included within the housing. In multichannel units, excitation voltage is maintained on all transducers independent of channel switching.
Battery power allows complete freedom of use, and provides average of 5 – 10 hours continuous operation, depending on transducer resistance. A ratiometric measuring technique prevents degrading system accuracy due to battery decay.
A visual display (Flashing “:”) signals that recharging is needed.
Recharging is accomplished by withdrawing the recharge cord from its sealed compartment and plugging into a standard 110 Vac or 220 Vac, 60 or 50 Hz wall receptacle. 220 Vac applications will require plug adapters to be furnished locally by the customer. Batteries are completely recharged overnight and can be left “on charge” indefinitely.
Readings can be obtained while the batteries are “on charge”. The instrument is effectively usable on either battery or line power.
